My lovely friend Helen at Casa Costello tagged me in this Olympic Meme. Its supposed to be a bit like the Olympic Flame and carry on going until the Olympics start. The Meme was originally started by Lou from Bloggomy asking us nine Olympic related questions.

Here they are along with my answers....

1. If every day tasks were Olympic events what would you get a gold medal in?

Hmmm.... I think the last minute school run dash might be one, or how about chicken chasing? Talking would be a definite!

2. As a child (or now even) did you excel at a particular sport and if so which one?

I can honestly say I have never really found a sport that I enjoy/ed. I was supposedly good at Net Ball because I was tall for my age but I really didn't enjoy it and my school wanted to enter me in swimming gala's but I'm really not very competitive. I did one, but hated every second. The only thing I was good at was the high jump, again because of my height and I competed for both the school and the Girls Brigade in district sports days

3. Michael Phelps (swimmer) or Michael Johnson (runner) – which sport appeals to you more?Not sure I'm particularly drawn to one more than the other, that said I would happily watch either.

4. How fast can you get out of bed and ready to go out the door if miss the alarm and sleep in?

I have 3 alarms and a 12 year old who is up before any of us! She actually knocked on our bedroom door one day last week and said "Do you know what time it is?!" I need a minimum of 30 minutes!

5. What fantasy sport would you like to see made into an Olympic event?

Chicken chasing? Quidditch? Hoolahooping? (Mr P says speedball?)

6. Claim to fame time – Have you ever met an Olympian and who was it?

I met Duncan Goodhew (Medal winning swimmer at the 1980 Moscow Games) whilst on holiday with my brother. I would have been about 10 or 11 at the time, he was opening a new swimming pool at the holiday camp we were at (& he was quite grumpy!)

7. What event in past Olympics can you remember most vividly?

I remember Michael Phelps winning eight(?) Golds In Beijing (good job as it wasn't all that long ago!)

8. Tuning in at home, not for me or tickets clamped ready in sweaty palms?

Had I still lived in the south I might well of put in for tickets but for us it'll be all about tuning in at home. I'm not a lover of huge crowds so it's probably for the best!

9. Who do you think most deserves a gold medal (any walk of life not just Olympians)?

All our service men & women ex & current whose 'job' it is to serve & protect us all.
